M06 CP - Home Page & Navigation System, Final Project (Part 2)

I created my Home Page & Navigation System with an old world post modern feel.  I love the vintage, yet updated look. This is something I might actually try and create!

M05 CP - E-Card Design

My e-card was designed to reinforce greener living by reducing one’s own footprint on the world.  The light bulb reflects conserving energy while the recycle symbol signifies reducing and reusing.  Matching the glow on the text and by using the light bulb throughout the card, it gives this piece a connected and important feel.

Book Cover Design (Part 1&2)

I created a book cover design around the one and only Ella Fitzgerald.  As “"The First Lady of Jazz" I have always admired her continued mainstream popularity and vocal talents.
My book design consists of a bold diagonal stripe across the cover and spine, bringing the two pieces together. If there were a back cover to this project, I imagine the stripe would continue. Simple title lettering with a light inner shadow perfectly compliments the classic image of Ms. Fitzgerald.  The lettering an image is mirrored on the spine as well.  I originally intended for the title letters to be at a diagonal, but the straight across placement became a bolder, clearer and easier to read format.
The soft light pink color with a bold burgundy stripe give a feminine yet strong appearance. I also removed the white background from her image to make a seamless overlay.

M03 CP - Awareness Poster

My final poster is to create awareness about animal abuse. Abuse can be as common as neglecting a pet with food and water or going far deeper to violent abuse and even death. Animal abuse goes way beyond household pets, but I used the cat and dog images to hit home with more people.

I wanted to make a bold and simple statement to stop animal abuse. The sad looking animals will draw in the audience and be easily relatable for most people. A straight forward call to action instructs viewers to contact their local ASPCA, which will also put them in contact with any nearby shelters, give tips on how to report abuse and warning signs to look for.

M03 CP - Awareness Poster Sketches - Part One

My sketches and poster will reflect raising awareness for animal abuse - something that is very near and dear to me.
